FAQ

If your question is not answered here, please feel free to contact me.

When are your books expected to open?

My books usually open twice a year, though there is no exact timing set. It is typically around the beginning of the year and again toward the fall. Once my books do open, I will announce it on Instagram and send an email to everyone on my mailing list. Booking submissions usually stay open anywhere from 1 day to 1 week, depending on demand at the time.

After submitting a form, how long should I wait for a response?

I always do my best to respond as soon as possible, sometimes even within an hour. If you have not heard back from me within 3 days, please check your junk folder or contact me directly by email.

Can I use numbing cream before our session?

While I understand the desire to reduce discomfort, I recommend avoiding numbing creams. In my experience they can create more complications than benefits during the tattoo process.

If you still choose to use a numbing cream, please be aware of the following:

• Any complications during the healing process will void eligibility for a complimentary touch-up

• If the skin shows signs of irritation or reaction and I determine it is unsafe to tattoo the area, the session may need to be rescheduled and the deposit forfeited

For color tattoos in particular, numbing creams can sometimes affect how the pigment settles and heals over time.

Your comfort is important to me. During the session I apply Bactine, which contains a mild numbing agent, as needed to help manage discomfort throughout the process.

Are there any areas of the body you do not tattoo?

There are certain placements that I do not tattoo. These include ribs, palms, the bottoms of the feet, neck, ears, face, and private areas. These areas can present challenges for both the tattooing process and long-term healing, and I want to ensure that any work I create has the best possible outcome and longevity.

Do you tattoo over scars?

Yes, I do tattoo over scars. Eligibility depends on the type of scar and how well it has healed. Scars must be fully healed and at least 1 year old before they can be considered for tattooing.

Do you do cover-ups or reworks?

I prefer not to rework another artist’s work. I do take on cover-ups, though it depends on the tattoo being covered and whether the project is suitable for a successful result. Cover-up clients should be open to more flexibility in the design process, as these pieces often require more black, a darker overall palette, and a design that is much larger than the original tattoo.

Will I see my design before my scheduled appointment?

Please note that I do not send production drawings in advance.

Before booking, each client has a consultation with me where we discuss the design in detail, and I use that as the foundation for the drawing prepared for the session.

At the beginning of your appointment, we will review the design together and make any minor adjustments, if needed, before tattooing begins, as long as they remain in line with what was discussed during the consultation.

If you would like to make changes to the original plan, you are welcome to reach out by email up to two weeks before your appointment. With enough notice, ideally at least one month in advance, we can also schedule a second consultation if needed.

Please keep in mind that if major changes are requested the day of the appointment, including adding new elements or changing the original concept, the appointment will need to be rescheduled to allow for additional drawing time. In that case, the original deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be required to reschedule.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing is based on the overall scope of the project and is typically structured as a half day session, full day session, or multiple sessions. Many of the pieces shown in my portfolio are larger projects completed over multiple sessions. Exact pricing will be discussed during the consultation once the design, placement, size, and complexity have been considered.

What is your deposit policy?

Deposits are non-refundable and will be applied toward the final cost of your session.

If you need to reschedule your appointment, at least 24 hours notice is required. Rescheduling after this window will require a new deposit.

If an appointment is rescheduled more than once, an additional deposit may be required to secure another date.

Due to limited availability, appointment dates cannot be held or confirmed until the deposit has been received and verified.
