TATTOO PRE-CARE

For the best possible results, it's essential that you and your skin are properly prepped for our session. Following these instructions will help ensure a smooth appointment and healing process. Failure to follow these instructions may interfere with the session and could prevent the appointment from moving forward as planned.

SKIN PREP:

• Skin must be free of cuts, scabs, sunburn, acne, or irritation.

• Scars should be at least one year old before being tattooed over.

• Moisturize the area twice daily for at least one month prior to your appointment.

• Exfoliate the area every other day for two weeks before the session.

• Please do not shave the area, I will take care of that before the tattoo.

• Wear clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed.

While I understand the desire to reduce discomfort, I generally recommend avoiding numbing creams. In my experience they can create more complications than benefits during the tattoo process.

BODY PREP:

Tattooing for several hours can be physically demanding, so it is important to prepare your body accordingly.

• Stay well hydrated before and during your appointment.

• Get at least 8 hours of sleep the night before.

• Eat a balanced meal prior to arriving.

• Feel free to bring snacks if you would like.

Please avoid the following before your appointment:

Alcohol for 48 hours prior to your session

Recreational drugs, including marijuana, for 48 hours prior

Blood thinners such as caffeine or ibuprofen for 24 hours prior, unless specifically instructed by your physician.

These substances can increase bleeding and make the tattoo process significantly more difficult. In some cases, they may make it unsafe or impossible to proceed with the tattoo, which may require rescheduling the appointment.

If you are currently taking antibiotics, we will need to reschedule your appointment until the medication has cleared your system.

Tattooing is an invasive procedure, and your safety and wellbeing are my priority. Please treat the process with the same care you would give any medical procedure.
